Hey there, guys!
Would you like to have your pony OC featured in the background of the 3rd episode of the animated series "Doctor Whooves and the Assistant?"
Now you can! Just follow these rules and your OC MAY be put in the cartoon.
Rules:
-Have an OC that is a pony.
-Draw your OC doing an activity with my OC (stroking my ego, I know) and/or with Pierce Smoulder (OC for
). You can see him in the Gangnam style video.
-Bear in mind that even if you do draw a picture, your OC may not be chosen to be put into the cartoon.
Winners will be chosen by myself, my co-animators and BalddumboRat if he/she feels up for it.
Exceptions:
-All OCs submitted and chosen to appear will be subject to modifications to fit the show style I use (recoloring, removing accessories, simplifying hairstyles, etc.) as I see fit.
-OCs will only appear in scenes where crowds and background ponies are needed. Off the top of my head, that would be about 2 scenes.
To submit your picture to the contest, just upload onto deviantart and post a comment with a link to your picture. I will then add a thumbnail of submissions to this post for easier viewing for myself and the other judges.
Deadline to submit is basically whenever I finish the cartoon and start cleaning everything up and adding more characters. I will post another journal entry letting you guys know the contest is over.

Get Hype!
So this Saturday is the premiere of the 100th episode of MLP:FiM featuring background ponies almost exclusively. I'm curious how this will play out.
Also on Saturday I should have something uploaded onto youtube (and likely DA) that people have been waiting for for a while, so look out for that ;)

Status Update! :D
The main bit of animation (body animation for the Doctor and Derpy) is finally done. All that's left to do for the first part is some clean-up stuff, adding background characters, adding backgrounds and lip sync. Shouldn't take anywhere near as long as doing the other thing.
I'm hyped that I'll be able to release something substantial after so much inactivity.
The other two parts should be released in short order since I plan to make them animatic-style simply to get them out of the way and I can focus on making other videos (like the Irish Drinking Song video that I haven't touched in forever).
Dat Season 5 premiere (relatively spoiler-free)
Holy balls, I felt a lot of symbolism in the season premiere. From cults to tumblr extremists to social justice warriors this two-parter seemed to just dish out the political butt symbols. I also got a strong vibe from these episodes that reminded me of the Jonestown massacre.
Honestly, as far as showing this to kids, it's a good couple of episodes. It shows that there is no one way to view the world while at the same time teaching not to bash your ideals onto others who may not share your views.

So after a hiatus and much deleting of old stuff from my old laptop, I've managed to get Flash CS6 running again so the missing files lost in converting to CS5 are now back and I'm now on the last 3,500 frames of body animation for a Doctor Whooves release.
I plan to finish the musical scene first and give a copy to BalddumboRat to upload on his/her youtube channel exclusively. So keep a lookout at http://www.youtube.com/piercesmoulder
I've decided to also work on bits of older projects as well as brainstorm other things to do (pony and non-pony). Expect a couple more Home Movies ponification vids, VGCats and a couple educational musicals f
